We've made the fluffiest baby sweater ever using Cocoknits new Little Lamb pattern and Baby Yeti from Big Bad Wool! I can't emphasize enough just how FUN this little sweater is- fashion forward, adorable and crazy soft!
Little Lamb is a top down raglan knit all in one piece- no seaming of fluffy yarn required! As always, Julie Weisenberger's instructions are easy to follow and it knits up quickly on US 10 needles. The wrap front style allows room to grow and you can make it for all little lambs aged 6 months to 4 years.
Baby Yeti is a unique fur yarn in that it's made from 100% natural fibers. The alpaca-merino blend combined with the fluffy texture makes soft, plump fabric. The minimal palette works beautifully to create classic baby knits that appeal to all manner of parental tastes!
We opted to leave the front of our cardigan open, but there are many attractive solutions that could keep the front closed. In the photo above, I made a crochet chain and a loop from my leftover Baby Yeti. Then, I attached the tie to the front and the loop to the side edge and tied the tie!
You could do the same with a smooth yarn for contrast, stitch in a ribbon tie or add a big button!
Since we can't all be with the little ones in our lives right now, this special sweater is way to reach out and give them a warm, wooly hug- and an excellent new outfit for Instagram!
