When Woolfolk announced their new yarn, Stra, I was lucky enough to receive some sample yarn in advance. I quickly cast on for a Vand sweater!
Stra is a unique blend of Woolfolk's trademarked Ultimate Merino and linen. This gives Stra's skeins a heathered, natural look. Since the merino and linen each take the dye differently, the darker the color, the more contrast there is- very tweedy!
Vand is a simple top down raglan sweater with cool, polished details. The back of the neck has a few short rows to ensure that the sweater sits well at the shoulders. The raglan has a 2 stitch center that adds interest to both the fabric and the knitting!
Vand's side vents go all the way up, and I love swingy shape of this swoncho! The ribbed edgings on each side of the vents that help the fabric lay flat and look nice and neat.
I made the short sleeve version of Vand for fall layering, but the pattern also includes instructions for a long sleeved version as well.
Knitting with Stra was incredibly enjoyable; it's a light, lively yarn with a beautiful look and feel. If you love interesting fiber combinations, I highly recommend Stra!
